‘Billboard’ is the brand new release from London-based indie rocker Dan Pye. As the first unveiling from his solo project, ‘Billboard’ showcases a confident artist who’s willing to experiment with his sound and style. A synth-filled and catchy little tune, ‘Billboard’ serves as the opening track for the musician’s upcoming EP. A song about starting over in the face of adversity, the “fight-for-life” so to speak, Pye sends out a powerful message to never give in. “We’re going down here we’re losing time, I’ve got no wings to fly,” he sings. “Another blank year of wasted light, I’ve got the will to try.” Recorded at his home in Forest Hill, ‘Billboard’ was mixed and mastered by legendary producer Joe Murphy in Finsbury Park. Having already supported acts like Catfish and The Bottlemen, Reverend and the Makers, and Half Moon Run, the future is undoubtedly bright for this talented musician.
An instant classic! ‘Billboard’ is an expertly layered and infectious little tune.

What does the song mean to you?
The song is about starting over and finding the will to continue against all your inner adversity.
What do you hope to achieve with this song?
I hope with this first track to reach as many people as possible. I hope it serves as a good introduction to what’s to come with the rest of the EP.
Tell us about your creative process and how the song came to be?
This is the first record that I have tracked and produced playing the majority of the instrumentation by myself. It started out as what I thought was going to be an acoustic record, but after moving in with my good friend and fellow song writer Ali Ingle, he inspired me to take the tracks in a different direction. He introduced me to various synths and sequencers – and then blending those sounds with electric guitars, pianos and vocal harmonies, to create something a little different to what I have been used to. It was very much trial and error but a very fun and playful experience.
What inspired you to share the song with the world?
After a year of putting this together with a lot of hard work it just felt right to put this out to the world. I was quite happy with how far I had come developing my production and song crafting skills, and I hope people listening can appreciate the work that has gone into making the record. The response so far has been amazing and I hope to continue to write and produce more records in this same fashion.
