Brixton-based musician, Silas Armstrong, has just released his brand new tune called ‘Silver’, and it’s truly the most perfect track to kickstart your week! Light, uplifting, and filled with positivity, ‘Silver’ serves as an ode to Armstrong’s mother, a “constant source of inspiration (and frustration)” says Silas jokingly. The end-of-summer anthem is filled with infectious guitar hooks and incredible vocal performances – and even has a sexy little saxophone just for good measure.
It’s the first release from the musician’s follow-up feature-length album, and he plans on releasing a new single each month until early next year. The genius of ‘Silver’ is that Armstrong has managed to perfectly bottle up feelings of nostalgia and reflection so effortlessly. We at Indie Top 39 are just glad that he decided to share that bottle with us. And, in turn, we’re extremely proud to share it with you.
‘Silver’ is the perfect start to your week! It’s the uplifting and positive tune that you need in your life right now!
INDIE TOP 39
What does the song mean to you?
It’s a happy uplifting end-of-summer anthem, about looking at things in a positive light. I actually wrote it about my mum who raised me as a single parent since I was 7. She’s always been there for me and she’s my constant source of inspiration (and frustration!) – ‘Silver’ is an ode to her.
What do you hope to achieve with this song?
I’m hoping to get some real streaming success with this one. It’s the most upbeat and accessible track I’ve released and it’s already reached 10k on Spotify in the first weekend!
What are your favourite lyrics in the song?
“Changes, patience, book your next vacation, somewhere, sun-scorched, with a pool and room for one more.”
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
Anyone and everyone who loves somebody. A friend, family member, if there’s anyone in your life that you can honestly say you love and that makes you feel great for just being you, this track ‘Silver’ should resonate with you.
