Today is a big day as INDIE TOP 25 becomes INDIE TOP 39. Congrats to RAY HODGE. “If It’s Easy” is the very first number one on a new chart.
That means more artists, more music, more discoveries, more indie sound! Last week CARMODY made a shy debut at no 18. This week haunting track “Before You Knew Me” is already no. 3.
NEW ENTRIES
Because of the fact that Indie TOP 25 transformed into Indie TOP 39, there are 15 new songs and 2 comebacks.
The highest new entry belongs to 3-piece-band from Bristol 4TH PROJECT. ?I had a chance to listen to their live performance earlier this week at the ?Roundhouse. “Taking Me Over” totally took over me and it shots to no. 6.
JUNGE JUNGE is a German DJ due that consists of Rochus Grolle and Michael Noack. For?”Postcard” they?collaborated with KYLE PEARCE. Catchy track debuts at no. 7.
At no. 8 a brand new name in music – JAMES GILLESPIE. “What You Do” is his first track from London based singer-songwriter.
CHRISTEN ALSOS?is Norwegian singer-songwriter who is signed to Sony Music Norway. She is signed to a major label, I believe in her success and I have a feeling that this song will be big. “Two more Days” is new at no. 10.
MJ COLE had a groundbreaking debut with “Crazy Love” at the beginning of the 00’s. We’ve been?patiently waiting and British DJ is back with an insanely catchy tune “Undo” (no. 15) that features ALYSS. I played this song on repeat.
SAM DAVIES is a Canadian DJ based in Toronto. “Northern Lights” has a groovy beat that keeps on spinning in my head. The song enters the chart at no. 18.
One of the music blogs I follow described “Ran” by FUTURE ISLANDS as one of the best songs of the year so far. It is already growing on me little by little. I have a feeling no. 21 is just the start.
At no. 22. we have another American singer-songwriter entering the chart. NOAH KAHAN brings a folky vibe with?”Young Blood”.
A few weeks ago JAMIROQUAI dropped a massive surprise new single “Automation”. It wasn’t my cup of tea. However, the second single “Cloud 9” takes me back to good old days and the song hits the chart at no. 24.
Armada brings a very well polished moody track by AUTOGRAF featuring WYNNE. “Nobody Knows Me” is new at no. 26.
SKOTT made everyone stop and listen to her haunting track “Wolf”. It was one of the biggest songs of 2016 (in this chart). New track “Glitter & Gloss” starts slowly at no. 30.
Another new entry belongs to JOE GODDARD who invited SLO to join him for the “Music is the Answer”. The video takes us on a journey at no. 35.
AMY SHARK is an Australian singer-songwriter. “Adore” is already getting recognition in her homeland. I have a feeling it’s just a matter of time until the song will become a smash hit all over the world. For now she starts small at no. 36.
When I first heard LITTLE DRAGON’s “Twice” for the first time in my life, it sent shivers down my spine. It’s hard to top that. However TORA did a very good job and it sounds?like?a very cool version (no. 39).
