Køpe » Ups and Downs
‘Ups and Downs’ is a nostalgia-filled and uplifting banger that we at Indie Top 39 just love!
INDIE TOP 39
Køpe (pronounced ‘Cope’) is the musical project of Ireland-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Peter Whelan, and he’s just released a nostalgia-laced anthemic banger in the form of ‘Ups and Downs’. Detailing the highs and lows in life, Køpe states that the song “is simply a message to myself”. With wide-ranging inspirations like Chet Faker, The xx, and James Vincent McMorrow, it’s no surprise that Whelan has been able to concoct a sound that is truly like no other. Dreamy, graceful, and full-bodied, ‘Ups and Downs’ has something for everyone, and at the end of the day, what more could one ask for?

Hallworth » Will You Love Me Later
Personal, powerful, and irresistible, ‘Will You Love Me Later’ is just beautiful!
INDIE TOP 39
‘Will You Love Me Later’ is the sophomore single from London-based singer/songwriter and indie-pop up-and-comer Hallworth. A deeply personal song for the musician, Hallworth beautifully explores the precariousness of falling in love, and the vulnerability of opening oneself up. Ethereal vocals, delicate piano, and a strumming guitar get the tune underway, and there’s just a warm and comforting atmosphere that’s immediately created. Hallworth expertly builds the song up, slowly and steadily, layer by layer, until reaching its unforgettable crescendo. For two minutes and forty-six seconds, the musician takes you on a journey, and we at Indie Top 39 can’t wait for the next one!

onedaybear » Marry You
‘Marry You’ is the catchy, upbeat, and high-spirited tune that you need in your life right now!
INDIE TOP 39
Manchester-based musician onedayasbear has just released his brand new single called ‘Marry You’, and it’s the upbeat, plucky, and infectious tune that you need in your life right now! Short and sweet and straight to the point, ‘Marry You’ features classic indie-rock guitar riffs, new-wave basslines, absorbing drums, and the spoken vocals of the musician himself. It follows a similar sound to his debut single ‘Swim’, but I believe also showcases an artist who is sharpening his musical teeth so to speak. With hopefully more singles up his sleeve, we at Indie Top 39 can’t wait to hear what onedaybear produces next!

Paul Vinson » Drama Queen
Honest, passionate, and catchy-as-hell, ‘Drama Queen’ is an absolute winner!
INDIE TOP 39
‘Drama Queen’ is the brand new single from Nashville-based indie-rocker Paul Vinson, and it’s his first release since his incredibly well-received hit ‘Last Summer’. Straight away, an edgy, twangy guitar riff gets ‘Drama Queen’ underway, before the alluring and silvery vocals of Vinson make their introduction. It’s a ridiculously catchy and expertly pieced together tune, and it’s no surprise that Vinson is beginning to make some serious waves on the scene. Drawing on inspiration from the likes of The 1975, Third Eye Blind, and Weezer, the musician has crafted a distinctive and unique sound that we at Indie Top 39 are falling hard for!
